Shed Installation Diary - March 2018
With summer fast approaching it's that time of year when everyone is thinking about giving their garden a bit of a tidy up and in some case, a complete makeover.
We've been following our installation teams to a number of homes doing just that and seeing how adding a new garden building can give their gardens a new lease of life.
We also take a look at shed security to see what steps customers can take to keep their gardening equipment as safe as possible.
Spring Cleaning Your Garden
When most people decide to make changes in their garden they immediately think of updating the shed in order create a better place to do those odd jobs and store their tools etc..
However some customers choose to get rid of their shed altogether and create a spot to relax and enjoy the garden from during the warmer months. Adding a summerhouse can do just that whilst creating a new focal point for your garden in the process. Above are examples of customers who've used our installation service this month to construct various styles of summer houses in there garden. None of the buildings took our team longer than a morning to construct and now all the customers have left to is paint the buildings and turn their focus to the rest of their garden. Summer houses are incredibly versatile buildings and can be utilised in a number of ways. You can use them for anything from a potting shed to a bird watching hide. If you're worried about what to do with all those gardening tools then Small Storage Units make excellent space saving alternatives to the traditional garden shed.
If you're looking for something more from your garden building then a log cabin may be more suitable. These buildings make for wonderful home offices and can also be used a guest house or small studio. The below images show an example of one of our customers who purchased a Greenway 4m x 4m Newborough Log Cabin. This building is great for gardens with limited space and enables you to place the doors and windows in multiple positions to suit your gardens layout. As you can see from our images the installation is easy and requires minimal tools. This install took just under a day to complete and the customer was very pleased with the end result.
Something More Adventurous
Every so ofter our installation team gets the opportunity to help create something extra special for one of our customers and when someone chooses to purchase a Rowlinson Carmen Pavilion there's more than a good chance it being one of those times.
This customer has chosen a wonderful setting for the pavilion and as you can see from our images the building creates a fantastic focal point for the garden whilst offering a fabulous spot for the owners to relax and admire the view. This contemporary pavilion is perfect for anyone looking for something a little different to the traditional garden building whilst boasting many of the same benefits.
Securing Your Shed
You'll never be able to keep your garden shed totally secure but there are a couple of options available that may help.
Firstly purchasing a more private windowless shed will prevent anyone from being able to see what valuable tools and equipment you are storing inside. If your shed has windows already or you need the option of allowing more natural light in to the building then adding security shutters could be the solution for you. We offer additional security options to help prevent access into the shed and will include them in your installation at no extra cost. The below customer added a Yale hasp and staple lock with padlock to the doors. Some customers opt to use multiple locks on their doors to make accessing their shed even harder. We also offer a Yale security alarm to further deter any potential break-ins and draw attention to anyone who does manage to enter the shed.
